Dress Code Requirements

UPDATES to our Dress Code Requirements and Store Links will be posted here on August 15th. Please wait until this time to order any new attire.

DANCE ATTIRE is required for all dance classes. The proper attire sets a standard in class for behavior, respect for the classroom and the style of dance being taught. It also allows the instructors to make necessary corrections, see where improvement is needed, lessens distractions, and enables the teacher to praise correct alignment. The teacher is unable to properly observe the students body movements for correct form and technique if the proper attire is not worn, which can lead to injury. Please see below for your class dress code or ask your teacher for more detailed information. Attire policy will be strictly enforced. Students who are not appropriately dressed (including hair) will be asked to sit and observe the class. Dance Attire may be purchased at https://www.shopnimbly.com/2thepointe. **Please take special notice of the sizing guides! Revolution brand shoes should be ordered 2-2.5 sizes larger than street shoe sizes for all children's sizes. Adult sizes are pretty true to size. See guides for details.**

Hair should be secured in a ponytail, braid or bun, depending on the style of dance (all Ballet I & up classes require buns - a variety of buns are acceptable for class: french twist, twisted, braided, sock buns; hair nets are helpful), with long bangs clipped or pinned out of face. If hair is short, a headband, braids, or small ponytail should be in place.

Jewelry is strongly discouraged as it can become a hazard or be lost/misplaced.

Dance shoes should only be worn inside the studio. Street shoes are not permitted on the dance floors at any time. Please be sure to tuck ballet shoe drawstrings in so that we do not have to worry about them coming untied.

Dance tights and a leotard are required for females in ALL class styles. The only exceptions are if the dancer is wearing a biketard or unitard in Acro classes in place of a leotard & tights.

Undergarments:

- Underwear can be left off. It is unnecessary under leotards and tights and often makes dancers uncomfortable/embarrassed as it rides down below the leg line of leotards. Dancers will not be allowed to wear underwear at recital so now is a great time to start preparing them.

- Nude camisole leotards are acceptable for added coverage. These leotards are considered undergarments and may not be worn to classes as a class leotard. They are intended to be worn under leotards and costumes for added privacy & support. - Supportive athletic sports bras (medium to strong control depending on size) are required for pre-teen and teen female dancers.

- Compression shorts or dance belts are required for pre-teen and teen male dancers.
